Dataset Objective

To investigate mechanisms by which regular emptying and servicing of containers by a CBS provider can be achieved efficiently.

Context

Although container-based sanitation (CBS) is increasingly used to provide safely managed sanitation in low-income urban settlements, questions remain around the viability of scaling up the technology, partly because it relies on regular emptying and servicing of containers by a CBS provider.

What is included

Charts comparing the total driving and walking distance required by different strategies to serve identified study locations, comparison of increased CBS usage with range in driving distances required to implement different strategies

Collection Methods

Data collected by evaluating the routing efficiencies achieved by different CBS provision strategies under multiple usage projections in four separate neighborhoods.
